GradePower Learning Naperville & Lisle is looking for an upbeat reliable, enthusiastic, dynamic part-time tutor who wants to work in a rewarding teaching environment. Candidates must be comfortable teaching students in 9th to 12th grade, at all skill levels. Instructors must be ready to teach advanced functions, calculus and data management in addition to algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and chemistry.
This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys numbers, equations, and language and is passionate about helping others build their skills in these areas.
SAT/ACT tutoring experience - own grades in the 90th percentile required. Must demonstrate with assessment in center or recent valid score report.
Teacher-tutors at GradePower Learning do not have to lesson plan before class, as all lessons are pre-planned. Applicants will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods.
Academic coaches are more than tutors We help students learn the process of learning and guide them through course content *and* learning methods that will eventually help them be independently successful learners Currently seeking coaches comfortable with math and sciences up to grade 12 (AP levels a plus).
Position Requirements:
All Teacher-Tutors at GradePower Learning work during after-school and evening hours (2:00pm - 8:00pm), as well as Saturdays (8:00am -4:00pm). A commitment until the end of the term in June is preferred. Your students will love working with you, and being reliable is a must.
This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position.

Education:
- Bachelor?s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
- College students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
- Teaching certification an asset
- Strong knowledge of the current 9th to 12th grade math and science curriculum
- Strong English grades
- Some experience teaching/tutoring math at a 9th to 12th grade (or equivalent) level
- Strong English written and oral communication skills
- Strong math skills and ability to guide students? understanding
- Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
- Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels
- Following the GradePower Learning methodologies and philosophies
- Filling in post-lesson notes & commuincating with coordinating staff
- Completing daily student communication updates
- Maintaining a friendly and professional manner
