About the Role:

As a Financial Analyst of Planning and Research – Canada, you'll be responsible for determining and reporting on merchant discount income. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on multiple organizations and departments by aligning the company's objective for efficient charge volume and merchant growth, essential for the strength of our business.

Key Responsibilities:

* Create a Canada figure for merchant discount income track month-to-month execution against forecast and identify drivers of change.

  • Develop vendor discount income scorecards for the Canada district.
  • Drive normalization and process improvement among the different local pricing groups for all reporting and determining related activities.
  • Support external reviews including investigating issues found, reaching out to the regional pricing groups that handle the merchant relationship to discuss issues, and managing goals.
  • Perform ad-hoc data analysis to assess discount rate trends and uncover insights.

Essential Qualifications:

* 2+ years' experience in financial services or payments industry, and/or other finance-related roles.

  • Bachelor's degree required; strongly preferred in finance/Accounting/Business.
  • High proficiency with Excel is required.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization.
  • Strong analytical skills; demonstrated ability to develop complex financial models and draw value-added insights from large financial datasets.
  • Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., SAS/SQL) is required.
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and oral.
  • A strong relationship with management and collaboration skills with the ability to influence others in situations where there may be multiple objectives.
  • Strong work ethic with an extreme will-to-win, ability to succeed in a high-speed, dynamic team environment, which places an emphasis on driving results.
  • An innovative thinker who will challenge conventional approaches and develop new ways to tackle old problems.
  • Strong project management skills with full ownership from analysis through to execution.
  • Enthusiastic focus on the customer; demonstrated willingness to understand and address customer needs and pain points.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple requests and priorities as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Master's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.

  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Knowledge of financial modeling software (e.g., Financial Modeling, Excel).
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, Python).
