Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan Secondary Teaching Certificate; (EX) Endorsement
- Meets highly qualified standards.
- Bachelor?s Degree from an accredited college or university
- Educational experience and/or training in teaching the Michigan State Standards
- Ability to use technology in the educational setting.
- Knowledge and experience related to English Learners.
- Education experience and/or training in teaching High School students.
- Ability to use and analyze data to improve student learning.
- Knowledge and experience related to Sheltered Instruction.
- Knowledge and experience with implementation of 21st Century Skills of collaboration, communication, creativity and critical thinking.
- Knowledge and experience with Multi-tiered Systems of Support in both behavior and academics.
- Knowledge of Professional Learning Communities.
- Knowledge of the 5D instructional framework for Teaching and Learning.
- Experience in utilizing the Gradual Release Model.
- Willingness to work with a diverse community and learners.
- Participate in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops.
- Conduct ongoing assessments of student learning, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs; conducts individual and small group instruction as needed.
- Encourages parental involvement in student's education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
- Coordinates with other professional staff members to evaluate and assess curriculum, and participates in staff meetings and committees.
- Ensure student conduct conforms to the school's standards and school district policies and establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
- Supervises students in activities that take place out the classroom during the schools day, including activities involving school transportation.
- Ability to prepare course objectives and outline for course of study following curriculum guidelines and requirements of state and school.
- Ability to administer tests to evaluate pupil progress, records results, and issues reports to inform parents of progress.
- Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or his/her designee.
- Ability to integrate Technology.
