The New Jersey Tutoring Corps Inc. provides high-dosage tutoring for K through Grade 8 students in math and literacy to close learning gaps. Tutoring is embedded in established networks of community-based organizations in high-need communities and Local Education Agencies (LEA). The New Jersey Tutoring Corps's vision is for every young scholar to have access to the academic and social/emotional support that they need in order to be successful learners. We are excited to be partnering with Kindle Education during the summer of 2023. Kindle Education is an intentionally diverse 6th-12th grade public charter school that aims to cultivate an equitable community of purposeful individuals who are prepared to navigate our current world and build our future. We believe that a new model of school is required to meet the demands of the 21st century and we are excited to build it. Our doors will open in the fall of 2023 with 6th-grade students and we plan to grow each year until the school serves grades 6-12. We are located in the Journal Square neighborhood of Jersey City, NJ. We are seeking dynamic Math Tutors and Assistant Student Coaches to help us forge a life-changing school. This role will start in the summer of 2023. Job Description Below is a brief overview, intended to be neither comprehensive nor binding. A flame is organic, never fixed, and we see the development of our school and team in the same way. As a founding Math Tutor /Assistant Student Coach at Kindle Education, you will be partnered with a Math Teacher and fellow Tutors. We believe that education is best done as a team sport and that we can accomplish exponentially more through collaboration. As a Math Tutor, you will support workshop-style classes where students explore multiple learning pathways and solve complex problems as they pursue their goals. With the support of the Math Teacher, you will utilize Kindle Education?s curriculum and learning platform to provide one-on-one intervention and small group mini-lessons based on each student?s needs and the goals of each unit. Students will develop both conceptual understanding and procedural fluency while applying mathematics to real-world contexts. As an Assistant Student Coach, you will partner with a Teacher and parents to guide a small group of students as they find their spark, develop social-emotional and metacognitive skills, set goals for life and learning, and build a sense of purpose. Through advisory sessions, one-on-one coaching sessions, family communication, and progress and data tracking, you will help ensure your students are getting the support they need to show consistent growth. As a learner and team member, you will set your own personalized goals with the support of a coach and your peers, ultimately modeling the self-directed growth we expect from our students. By proactively supporting your peers and pitching in where needed, you will help create an environment where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued. Math Tutor /Assistant Student Coaches will work at Kindle Education Monday -Thursday from 8:30 am-4 pm. This includes 40 minutes per day for lunch and 80 minutes per day for planning/meetings. All curriculum and student data will be housed on the Kindle Education learning platform. Required Qualifications

• Bachelor?s degree in education.
• Past history of instructional coaching.
• Experience teaching and/or tutoring mathematics.
• Standard certificate, certificate of eligibility (CE), or certificate of eligibility with advanced standing (CEAS).
• New Jersey Certification of Criminal History (fingerprint form).
• Complete all training.
• Experience with Google suite functions including Google sheets and forms.
• Demonstrated ability to excellent communication and written skills, particularly in providing feedback to others in a constructive manner.
• Professional skills: attention to detail, timely and proactive communication, and job preparedness.
• Reliable transportation to travel to the site.

• Compensation is $30 hourly for Non-certified Tutors; $40 hourly for Certified Tutors; and $40 hourly for Assistant Student Coaches.
