It is one of eight departments in the College of Allied Health Sciences (CAHS) and is in a state-of-the-art building on the health science campus in Greenville, NC, along with the College of Nursing and the Laupus Medical Library. The College of Allied Health Sciences is the first and largest college of allied health sciences in North Carolina and graduates the most allied health professionals for the state. The College has a strong working relationship with the ECU Brody School of Medicine, ECU College of Nursing, the East Carolina Heart Institute, ECU Department of Family Medicine, and the School of Dental Medicine. Job Duties In support of the PA Program curriculum candidate's primary duties and responsibilities will include:

• Participate as a lecturer/small group facilitator /course director throughout the curriculum, teaching in areas of expertise and program need.
• Participate as an instructor/proctor for clinical assessment activities in the didactic phases
• Participate in student activities of the didactic and clinical phases.
• Participate in the grading of student assignments and evaluation of student academic and professional development.
• Participate in student remediation planning and execution.
• Actively participate in ongoing program self-assessment and accreditation activities.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Program Director.

As a member of the faculty of the PA Program, the Faculty Associate will:

• Serve as an advisor to students.
• Serve on program committees as assigned by the Program Director
• Participate in faculty development activities.
• Serve as a role model for PA Program students, staff, and faculty.
• Represent the PA Program within the ECU community.
• Support other PA faculty teaching in the curriculum.

Minimum Education/Experience Minimum requirements include a current, unrestricted license as a physician assistant by the North Carolina Medical Board or eligibility for licensure , a minimum of 2-3 years clinical experience in patient care as a physician assistant, completion of an ARC-PA accredited program or its successors or predecessors, a master's degree or higher in a related field, careful attention to detail, high organizational and networking skills, and dedication to being a team player. License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation Current, unrestricted license as a physician assistant by the North Carolina Medical Board or eligibility for licensure Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, work well with deadlines, and demonstrate resilience. The candidate should have good written and oral communication skills required for working with students, faculty, and other departments at ECU as well as within the medical community. Some proficiency using Word, PowerPoint and Excel is preferred.
