Legal Case Manager (Part-Time, Remote – Elder Law / Medicaid Practice)

Texas attorney with a practice focused on nursing home Medicaid and asset protection looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented Legal Case Manager to help manage the progress of active cases on a part-time, remote basis. We are a low volume, high service firm. You will not be swamped with files, but the ones you have demand concierge service. This role is not primarily about document drafting or legal research. The core function is to keep cases moving forward despite constantly changing information and multiple moving parts. What You’ll Be Responsible For:

  • Maintaining a clear, up-to-date view of each case, including: Current status, Outstanding items, Next required steps
  • Tracking and following up on multiple moving pieces (e.g., financial account balances, required documents, deadlines)
  • Managing tasks within tasks—where new information changes what needs to happen next
  • Ensuring key deadlines (such as eligibility or spend-down timelines) are met
  • Communicating clearly what is: On track, At risk, Blocked and why
  • Following up with clients to obtain missing information and documentation

What This Role Is NOT:

  • Not a basic administrative assistant role
  • Not just checking boxes on a static checklist
  • Not limited to document preparation

This role requires someone who can organize evolving information and maintain clarity as situations change daily. Ideal Candidate

  • Experience in legal case management, probate, estate planning, or similar fields
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills
  • Comfortable managing multiple active files simultaneously
  • Able to identify what matters vs. what is noise
  • Works independently and takes ownership of outcomes
  • Excellent written communication
  • *Medicaid experience is a plus, but not required.**

Hours & Compensation:

  • Approximately 10–20 hours per month (may increase over time)
  • Flexible schedule, but must be reliable and responsive
  • $30–$50/hour depending on experience
