Program Overview

Our Tax Season Support Program is a 14-week initiative that runs from January 13th to April 15th, 2025. As a Remote Customer Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing top-notch support to our customers during this critical period. With a focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences, you will work closely with our team to resolve issues, answer questions, and provide guidance on tax-related matters.

Key Responsibilities

As a Remote Customer Support Specialist, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing exceptional customer support via phone, email, and chat
  • Resolving complex issues and answering questions related to tax laws and concepts
  • Collaborating with our team to develop and implement effective solutions
  • Staying up-to-date on changes to our products and services, as well as industry trends and developments
  • Participating in training and certification programs to enhance your skills and knowledge
  • Meeting service level and contact per hour commitments
  • Working a minimum of 30 hours per week, with peak periods requiring additional hours

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to empathize with customers
  • Intermediate-level computer skills, including proficiency in relevant operating systems and software environments
  • Experience with software troubleshooting and problem-solving
  • Ability to modify communication style to meet customer needs and tone
  • Customer service skills, including the ability to simplify complex ideas and diffuse angry customers
  • Analytical skills, including research, analysis, and problem-solving
  • Organizational skills, including initiative, multitasking, and time management

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Basic knowledge of tax laws and tax concepts
  • Experience providing support in a call center environment
  • Familiarity with tax-related software and systems

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle change well

  • Ability to adhere to work schedules and flexibility to work extra shifts when needed
  • Comfort with being on camera with customers and humanizing interactions

  • Positive and understanding attitude in the face of difficult or challenging customer interactions

Operating Hours and Schedule

As a Remote Customer Support Specialist, you will work a minimum of 30 hours per week, with peak periods requiring additional hours. Operating hours are from 8am to midnight EST, Monday to Sunday, with the following peak periods:

  • April 9th to 15th: 8am-midnight EST/EDT
  • April 15th, 2025: 8am-3am EST/EDT
