Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Solar Project Engineer to join their dynamic team in Phoenix, Arizona . This pivotal role will involve leading the design, development, and execution of large-scale solar energy projects. You will be responsible for overseeing all engineering aspects from concept to commissioning, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Your expertise will be crucial in performing detailed site assessments, optimizing system designs for maximum energy production and cost-effectiveness, and developing comprehensive engineering reports. You'll also conduct feasibility studies, analyze energy yield projections, and select appropriate solar technologies and components. Collaboration is key; you will work closely with cross-functional teams including project managers, procurement specialists, construction crews, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project integration and problem resolution. A strong understanding of grid interconnection processes, electrical systems, structural engineering principles related to solar installations, and relevant building codes and standards is essential. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating potential engineering risks. You will also contribute to the continuous improvement of our client's engineering processes and standards, mentoring junior engineers and sharing best practices. The ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in solar project engineering. A Master's degree or professional engineering (PE) license is highly preferred. Proven experience with industry-standard design software (e.g., AutoCAD, PVSyst, Helioscope) and a solid understanding of renewable energy markets and policies are required. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are necessary to effectively present complex technical information to diverse audiences.
