Job Description

We are looking for an experienced MySQL Database Administrator to join our growing cloud operations organization. In this role, you will work closely with Operations and Development teams to design, develop, and maintain mission-critical, scalable databases. You will be responsible for database performance, availability, and automation, while also supporting modernization efforts into cloud-based database environments.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and administer highly available and performant MySQL databases. Support production databases across global data centers. Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot MySQL replication and clustering. Provide database reports and queries for internal stakeholders. Perform performance tuning, backup/recovery, and proactive monitoring. Troubleshoot complex database issues to maintain system availability. Automate database tasks using scripting (Python, Shell, or Bash). Document database designs, processes, and operational guidelines. Follow change management processes for production environments. Qualifications 5+ years of overall professional experience, including 3+ years of hands-on MySQL administration. Experience with GCP (preferred) or AWS cloud database technologies. Strong understanding of MySQL implementation, performance tuning, and replication (master-master). Proficiency with MySQL administration tools and monitoring performance indicators (IO, CPU, queries). Experience writing SQL queries, including for reporting and analytics. Solid knowledge of Linux for database administration. Scripting skills in Python (preferred), Shell, or Bash. Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Nice to have: Exposure to SQL Server administration. Data warehouse experience (e.g., Google BigQuery). Familiarity with automation tools for database provisioning and monitoring. Additional Information
