Job Responsibilities: Client Consultation: Meet with clients to assess their eligibility for SSI/SSDI benefits and discuss their case details. Application Assistance: Assisting clients in completing SSI/SSDI applications accurately and thoroughly to maximize their chances of approval. Appeals Representation: Representing clients in appeals hearings before administrative law judges. Evidence Gathering: Collecting medical records, employment history, and other relevant documents to support clients' SSI/SSDI claims. Legal Research: Staying updated on SSA regulations and case law to effectively advocate for clients' rights and benefits. Communication: Acting as a liaison between clients and government agencies, communicating on behalf of clients to ensure their rights are protected. Advocacy: Advocating for clients with disabilities or other challenges to ensure they receive the disability benefits they are entitled to under the law. Job Qualifications: Admission to the Bar: The attorney should be licensed to practice law in at least one state, ensuring they are authorized to represent clients in disability hearings before administrative law judges. Documentation of SSA authorization to represent disability claimants is required. Specialization in Social Security Disability Law: Extensive experience and specialization in Social Security Disability law are desired. The attorney should have an understanding of SSA regulations, policies, and procedures governing disability claims and appeals. Years of Experience: The attorney should have 4+ years of experience practicing in the field, with a proven track record of success in representing clients at disability hearings and appeals.
