. This role is integral to providing tailored educational support and instruction to students with diverse learning needs in a remote setting. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of special education methodologies, IEP development and implementation, and a passion for creating inclusive and effective learning experiences. This is a fully remote position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to make a profound difference in students' lives.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with mild to moderate disabilities. Deliver specialized instruction and support to students in a virtual classroom environment across various subject areas. Collaborate closely with general education teachers, parents, administrators, and support staff to ensure student success. Utilize a range of assistive technologies and online tools to support student learning and engagement. Conduct assessments and progress monitoring to track student academic and functional growth, documenting findings in IEPs. Facilitate virtual IEP meetings, presenting student progress and collaboratively setting goals. Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet the unique needs of each student. Maintain accurate and organized student records, including progress reports, attendance, and IEP documentation. Foster a positive, supportive, and accessible virtual learning environment for all students. Stay current with best practices, legal requirements, and trends in special education and virtual learning.

Requirements

Master's degree in Special Education or a related field. Valid state teaching certification/license in Special Education (Mild/Moderate Disabilities) for the relevant grade levels, with consideration for

Ohio

licensure or reciprocity. Minimum of 3 years of experience teaching students with mild to moderate disabilities. Experience in virtual or online teaching is highly preferred. Proficiency in developing and implementing IEPs, including progress monitoring and data collection. Experience with various special education methodologies and intervention strategies. Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and assistive technology tools for online learning. Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively manage a remote caseload and maintain strong relationships with students and families. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in record-keeping. A commitment to advocating for and supporting students with special needs in an online educational setting.
