IT Systems Administrator - Energy Management and Market Solutions
WEC Energy Group is one of the nation’s largest electric generation and distribution and natural gas delivery holding companies serving 4.7 million customers across the Midwest. They are seeking an IT Systems Administrator to support their energy management system within the Energy Management and Market Solutions group, focusing on design, implementation, and operational activities for the EMMS infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Plan, design, and engineer various device and system configurations utilizing prescribed methods. Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced IT Infrastructure Consultant or other senior staff
- Implement, operate and support various devices and systems utilizing prescribed methods
- Perform routine systems work requiring application of standard techniques and procedures
- Work under direction of supervisor or Senior IT Infrastructure Consultant who screens assignments for unusual or difficult problems
- Develop working knowledge of systems, equipment, and supporting applications, and how they support the business
- Maintain key performance and process metrics to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of processes, procedures, and systems, generally under the direction of senior staff
- Effectively use various forms of communication to successfully perform job duties
- Performs on-call responsibilities as part of an on-call rotation
- May require travel to other locations
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree
- This position requires unescorted access to certain critical cyber assets which would require applicants to satisfy all Company and NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection Standard 004 security requirements, which includes a background investigation
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems or related degree
- Strong technical knowledge of firewall administration and configuring and monitoring network equipment
