[Remote] Couchbase Administrator
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. IntraEdge is seeking a skilled and experienced Couchbase Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize their Couchbase database environments. This role involves ensuring the availability, performance, security, and scalability of Couchbase clusters across production and non-production environments.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, administer, and maintain Couchbase Server environments
- Manage Couchbase clusters, including node provisioning, rebalancing, failover, and recovery operations
- Configure and maintain buckets, indexes, and Cross Datacenter Replication (XDCR)
- Monitor database health, performance, and capacity to ensure optimal system availability
- Perform performance tuning, query optimization, and index management to improve application efficiency
- Implement and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, including performance bottlenecks, replication failures, and cluster health concerns
- Collaborate with application development, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to support database requirements
- Implement security best practices, including user access management, encryption, and compliance controls
- Create and maintain operational documentation, procedures, and best practices
- Support database upgrades, patching, and migration activities
Skills
- 4+ years of experience in Database Administration, with strong hands-on experience in Couchbase Administration
- Expertise in Couchbase Server installation, configuration, and cluster management
- Strong experience with: Couchbase Cluster Administration, Bucket Management, XDCR (Cross Datacenter Replication), Rebalancing and Failover Management, Backup and Recovery, Performance Monitoring and Tuning, Capacity Planning
- Hands-on experience with N1QL queries, indexing, and query optimization
- Strong knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) concepts
- Experience with Linux administration (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu)
- Scripting experience using Shell, Python, or similar languages
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, or ELK
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible) and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience supporting large-scale production database environments
- Couchbase Certified Administrator certification
- Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, or GCP) are an added advantage
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
