Position Overview: HiFi Guide & Live Chat Agent

As a HiFi Guide & Live Chat Agent at arenaflex, you will serve as the critical first point of contact for our customers seeking real-time assistance through our live chat platform. This is not a generic customer service role. You will operate as a knowledgeable audio consultant, qualifying customers who are interested in selling their high-end gear, identifying shoppers who require specialized one-on-one attention, and expertly scheduling follow-up appointments with our senior HiFi Buyers and experienced HiFi Guides.

You will provide expert guidance on high-end audio products, address nuanced technical inquiries with confidence, and ensure that every customer interaction reflects our unwavering commitment to quality, authenticity, and service excellence. If you have ever been the friend everyone calls to ask "what cable do I need?" or "is this amplifier going to drive my speakers?"—this is the role where that passion becomes your profession.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage customers through live chat with warmth, professionalism, and deep product knowledge, qualifying those looking to sell their audio equipment as well as those requiring additional attention due to high-value or complex purchases.
  • Offer expert guidance on product features, compatibility, and performance characteristics across our full catalog, helping customers make informed decisions aligned with their listening preferences, room acoustics, and budget considerations.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments for qualified customers with our senior HiFi Guides or specialized HiFi Buyers, ensuring timely and appropriate handoff that respects both the customer's urgency and our team's expertise.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of customer interactions, inquiries, and resolutions in our CRM system, ensuring thorough documentation that supports seamless continuity across our team.
  • Collaborate closely with our HiFi Buyers and fellow HiFi Guides to resolve complex customer needs, share insights about market trends, and continuously enhance the overall customer service experience.
  • Stay continuously updated on our product offerings, services, and evolving industry trends to provide informed, current recommendations and solutions that reflect the state of the art in two-channel audio.
  • Uphold the premium service standards of arenaflex by delivering a courteous, knowledgeable, and attentive customer experience that builds lasting relationships and drives repeat engagement.

Minimum Requirements

To thrive in this role, you will need a blend of sales acumen, audio expertise, and exceptional communication skills. Specifically, we are looking for candidates who bring:

  • Proven sales experience in face-to-face retail, phone-based, and email-driven sales environments, with a track record of building rapport and closing opportunities.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and professional experience with high-performance two-channel audio systems, including knowledge of amplifiers, speakers, sources, cables, and room acoustics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical information into accessible, customer-friendly language.
  • Strong customer service and de-escalation skills, with a calm and empathetic approach to resolving concerns and managing challenging conversations.
  • Solid computer proficiency, including comfort with CRM platforms, live chat tools, and standard productivity software.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with HiFi Guides and HiFi Buyers, ensuring seamless customer experiences and a unified team approach.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in the HiFi, home audio, or consumer electronics industry.
  • Familiarity with vintage and modern audio brands, including their sonic signatures, design philosophies, and market positioning.
  • Experience with live chat or real-time customer support platforms.
  • Working knowledge of audio measurement, specifications interpretation, and system matching principles.

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits

We believe in taking care of the team that takes care of our customers. This is a full-time remote position with a competitive annual salary in the range of $50,000 to $70,000, commensurate with experience. Our benefits package includes:
