We are currently expanding our real-time captioning operations team and are looking for a dedicated, detail-oriented, and highly motivated professional to join us as a Realtime Captioning Support & Live Broadcast Operations Specialist for our overnight shift team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical behind-the-scenes role in ensuring that millions of viewers can access live television programming through accurate, real-time closed captioning.

About the Role

As a Realtime Captioning Support & Live Broadcast Operations Specialist at careerzynith, you will serve as a vital link in our real-time captioning department, providing exceptional customer and captioner support in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Our specialists are highly experienced editors who bring precision, professionalism, and problem-solving skills to every shift. You will be responsible for setting up, monitoring, and troubleshooting closed captioning for live TV networks, ensuring on-air continuity of captions across all programming blocks, and serving as the primary technical point of contact for both clients and captioners. This is a full-time, on-site position based out of our Canonsburg, PA office. The selected candidate will work one of the following overnight shifts 800 PM – 400 AM 900 PM – 500 AM Please note that this position requires working variable shifts, including late evenings, weekends, and holidays. Key Responsibilities

In this role, your day-to-day responsibilities will be varied and engaging. While not exhaustive, your core duties will include Live Caption Setup and Configuration Set up closed captioning for live TV networks, ensuring all technical parameters are correctly configured before broadcasts go on air. On-Air Continuity Monitoring Monitor and ensure the on-air continuity of captions for all shows being captioned, intervening quickly to resolve any issues that may arise during live broadcasts. Script Research and Transcription Research and transcribe scripted portions of programming in advance, providing captioners with accurate reference materials to support real-time delivery. Quality Assurance and Verification Use exceptional attention to detail to verify that caption files are accurate, properly formatted, and ready for live broadcast, catching errors before they reach viewers. Technical Troubleshooting Troubleshoot and resolve client issues swiftly and effectively to ensure the continuity of closed captions, working calmly under time pressure when live broadcasts are at stake. Captioner Partnership Collaborate closely with Realtime Captioners to set up, test, and verify captions for their scheduled programs, fostering a team-oriented approach to quality service delivery. Client and Captioner Support Assist both clients and captioners with a wide range of questions related to connections, caption placement, software functionality, and other technical concerns. Documentation and Process Improvement Contribute to internal documentation efforts and identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve service quality. What We’re Looking For Essential Qualifications To excel in this role at careerzynith, candidates must possess the following Educational Background A high school diploma is required. An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in communications, English, journalism, broadcast technology, or a related field is preferred. Shift Flexibility The ability to work variable shifts, including late evenings, weekends, and holidays, is essential for this position. Language Skills Strong English grammar and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy. Technical Proficiency Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfort with learning new software platforms. Typing Skills Moderate typing ability at a minimum of 35 words per minute. Teamwork and Independence The ability to work effectively on independent tasks with minimal supervision, as well as the willingness to collaborate cooperatively as part of a team.
