Position Summary The Special Education Process Coordinator serves as the operational lead for special education compliance and processes at BHA Academy. This role oversees referrals, evaluations, IEP compliance, documentation management, timelines, and communication with families, staff, and partner school districts to ensure adherence to state and federal special education requirements. This is primarily a remote position focused on coordination, documentation, compliance, and process management rather than direct student services. Occasional virtual meetings and limited on-site participation may be required.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Special Education, Educational Administration, or related field required
  • Current Missouri Special Education teaching certificate or administrative certification required
  • Minimum 10 years of experience as a Special Education teacher
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Special Education Process Coordinator or Special Education Coordinator
  • Strong knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, special education compliance, evaluations, and procedural safeguards
  • Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, virtual meeting platforms, and electronic documentation systems

Essential Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the special education process from referral through placement and ongoing services
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with IDEA, state regulations, and district requirements
  • Track and manage IEPs, reevaluations, progress reports, assessments, and procedural timelines
  • Review referrals, student records, and documentation to support placement decisions
  • Serve as a primary liaison between BHA Academy, families, and partner school districts
  • Attend and support IEP meetings, evaluations, and compliance-related conferences
  • Maintain accurate, secure, and compliant student records
  • Provide training and support to staff regarding special education procedures and documentation
  • Coordinate special education assessments, reporting, and compliance audits
  • Develop and maintain systems, templates, and processes that promote efficiency and compliance
  • Support Academy leadership with reporting, audits, and special projects

Starting Salary: Our compensation is competitive within the market. The starting rate for this position begins at $62.099.11 annually, with your final offer based on a combination of your education, relevant experience, and overall qualifications. Apply To This Job
