Key Responsibilities: Shape the Data Analytics Landscape

As a Data Analytics Customer Engineer at arenaflex, you will wear multiple hats as a technical advisor, solution architect, strategic consultant, and customer champion. Your day-to-day responsibilities will be diverse, challenging, and deeply rewarding:

  • Strategic Opportunity Identification: Collaborate with cross-functional teams across North America to identify, qualify, and advance business opportunities within the data analytics domain. You will analyze customer pain points, understand key objections, and develop comprehensive strategies to resolve technical blockers related to every aspect of the data lifecycle, from ingestion to insight.
  • Technical Customer Advocacy: Share your deep data analytics expertise to support and strengthen technical relationships with customers and partners. This includes crafting compelling bid responses, delivering impactful product and solution briefings, executing hands-on proof-of-concept engagements, and partnering closely with product management to prioritize features and solutions that accelerate customer adoption of arenaflex Cloud.
  • Requirements Discovery and Solution Architecture: Conduct thorough discovery sessions to identify both business and technical requirements. Translate these requirements into well-architected, scalable, and secure solutions that leverage the full breadth of arenaflex's data analytics capabilities. You will design architectures that address real-world challenges in data warehousing, data lakes, batch and real-time event processing, streaming, ETL/ELT, data migrations, and data governance.
  • Compelling Sales Messaging and Demonstrations: Prepare and deliver persuasive sales presentations that highlight the unique value proposition of arenaflex Cloud. Utilize a variety of engagement techniques including interactive whiteboarding, polished presentations, live product demonstrations, thought leadership whitepapers, and comprehensive RFI responses that clearly articulate technical differentiators.
  • Product Roadmap Influence: Serve as a critical feedback loop between customers and arenaflex Product Management teams. Provide thought leadership, share aggregated customer insights, and triage technical blockers that impede workload migrations. Your input will directly shape the future direction of arenaflex's data analytics products and services.
  • Executive Engagement: Confidently engage with technical stakeholders and executive leaders, translating complex technical concepts into business value narratives that resonate with C-level audiences.

Essential Qualifications: What You Bring to the Table

We are looking for candidates who bring a powerful combination of technical depth, customer-facing experience, and strategic thinking. The following qualifications are required for this role:

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience that demonstrates comparable depth of knowledge.
  • Cloud Native Architecture Experience: A minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience with cloud native architecture, gained in customer-facing, pre-sales, consulting, or technical support roles. You should be comfortable discussing distributed systems, microservices, containerization, and modern cloud design patterns.
  • Executive Communication Skills: Demonstrated experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders. You must be able to tailor your communication style to different audiences and consistently deliver value in every interaction.
  • Big Data and Analytics Expertise: Substantial experience with Big Data technologies and concepts, including analytics warehousing, data processing frameworks, data transformation pipelines, data governance frameworks, data migration strategies, ETL and ELT processes, SQL and NoSQL databases, performance and scalability optimization techniques, and the nuanced differences between batch and streaming architectures.

Preferred Qualifications: Set Yourself Apart

While the following qualifications are not strictly required, they will significantly strengthen your candidacy and enable you to make an immediate impact:

  • Technical Sales or Consulting Background: Prior experience in technical sales, pre-sales engineering, or cloud consulting roles, ideally with a focus on cloud computing, data analytics, or Big Data solutions.
  • Distributed Systems Mastery: Deep experience with architecture design, implementation, performance tuning, schema design, and query optimization of scalable, distributed systems that handle massive data volumes.
  • Cloud Market Acumen: Comprehensive understanding of cloud computing fundamentals, including infrastructure, storage, platforms, and data services, combined with insight into cloud market dynamics, competitive landscapes, and customer buying behavior.
  • Modern Data Platform Experience: Hands-on experience developing and deploying data warehousing solutions, data lakes, batch and real-time event processing systems, streaming architectures, ETL/ELT pipelines, data migration projects, data visualization tools, and data governance frameworks on cloud native architectures.
  • Customer-Centric Architecture Skills: Strong ability to understand complex customer requirements, break them down into manageable components, and design technical architectures that elegantly address both current needs and future growth.

Skills and Competencies for Success

Beyond technical qualifications, the ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional skills in the following areas:

  • Problem-Solving Excellence: A systematic, creative approach to identifying root causes and developing innovative solutions to complex technical challenges.
  • Communication Mastery: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain sophisticated technical concepts to diverse audiences ranging from deep technical practitioners to business executives.
  • Collaboration and Influence: Proven ability to work effectively across organizational boundaries, build consensus, and influence stakeholders at all levels without direct authority.
  • Adaptability and Learning Agility: A growth mindset coupled with the ability to quickly master new technologies, frameworks, and methodologies in a rapidly evolving landscape.
  • Customer Empathy: A genuine passion for understanding customer needs, advocating for their success, and building long-term, trust-based relationships.
