Remote Online Tutor jobs – Dearborn, Michigan – Full‑Time Virtual Teacher for K‑12 & College Prep, $30‑45 k Salary, Zoom, Google Classroom, Canvas, and Interactive Learning Platforms --- ### Who we are At
BrightPath Learning
, a mid‑size e‑learning provider based out of Dearborn, Michigan, we’ve spent the last four years building a community of students who rely on us for personalized academic support. We’re not a multinational “ed‑tech” conglomerate; we’re a team of former teachers, curriculum designers, and a few software‑savvy educators who decided that the pandemic forced us to rethink how tutoring works. Our headquarters sit in a modest office in Dearborn, Michigan, but 95 % of our instructional staff works from home, connecting with learners across the U.S. through video, chat, and collaborative whiteboards. In the last fiscal year we helped 12,200 students improve grades by an average of 1.4 GPA points, and we’ve just secured a partnership with a regional school district in Dearborn, Michigan that will double our enrollment over the next 12 months. That’s why we’re looking for an experienced
online tutor
to join our remote classroom team right now. --- ### Why this role exists now Two things changed in the past year: 1.
Demand spikes
– The new district contract means we’ll be onboarding 1,800 new tutoring slots for middle‑school math and high‑school science by early 2025. 2.
Curriculum expansion
– We are rolling out a college‑prep writing lab that uses an AI‑assisted feedback engine (integrated with Turnitin and Gradescope). To keep the quality of instruction high while scaling, we need a
virtual tutor
who can manage a full caseload, mentor junior tutors, and fine‑tune our digital lesson flow. In short, you’ll be a key pillar in the next phase of growth for BrightPath Learning, ensuring that every student in Dearborn, Michigan and beyond gets the same attentive, data‑driven support they expect from an in‑person teacher. --- ### What you’ll do (day‑to‑day) -
Deliver live instruction
– Conduct 15‑minute “check‑in” sessions and 45‑minute deep‑dive lessons via Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Google Meet, covering subjects from Algebra II to AP English Literature. -
Create and adapt content
– Build interactive lessons in Google Slides, Nearpod, and Kahoot; upload worksheets to Canvas or Blackboard, and tag each resource with metadata for our analytics dashboard. -
Assess and report
– Grade assignments using Gradescope, run plagiarism checks through Turnitin, and update progress reports in our proprietary LMS, which syncs with Power BI for real‑time performance tracking. -
Maintain response SLAs
– Answer student questions posted in Slack or Padlet within 30 minutes on average; escalation to the support team must occur within 2 hours if a technical issue arises. -
Mentor junior staff
– Pair with a newly hired “tutor‑in‑training” for at least two hours per week, reviewing their lesson plans and modeling best practices for virtual classroom management. -
Participate in quality reviews
– Join bi‑weekly peer‑observation calls, where you’ll give and receive feedback on teaching techniques, student engagement metrics, and use of technology. --- ### Who you are -
Qualified educator
– Bachelor’s degree in Education, a teaching credential, or equivalent subject‑matter expertise; minimum two years of tutoring or teaching experience (online or face‑to‑face). -
Tech‑comfortable
– Proficient with Zoom, Google Classroom, Canvas, and at least one interactive polling tool (Kahoot, Quizizz, or Nearpod). Familiarity with Miro boards or Jamboard is a plus. -
Student‑first mindset
– You can read a student’s tone through a webcam and shift strategies on the fly, whether that means simplifying a concept or challenging them with a higher‑order question. -
Data‑aware
– Comfortable interpreting dashboards that track attendance, completion rates, and grade improvements; you’ll use that data to personalize sessions. -
Reliable communicator
