[Remote] Policy Analyst

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. National Abortion Federation is a mission-driven organization focused on equity and access in reproductive health. They are seeking a Policy Analyst who will monitor and analyze state and federal policy developments related to reproductive health and rights, supporting coalition engagement and providing updates to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Represent NAF in coalition meetings, working groups, and stakeholder convenings
  • Attend policy briefings, webinars, and meetings and summarize key developments for the organization
  • Research, source, and analyze policy developments for inclusion in internal updates and reports
  • Draft policy summaries, briefings, talking points, and other written materials
  • Coordinate and manage organizational sign-on letters and maintain related tracking systems
  • Track state legislation using legislative monitoring tools and software
  • Monitor litigation and legal developments affecting reproductive health and rights
  • Monitor the Federal Register for regulatory developments impacting reproductive healthcare
  • Maintain policy trackers, databases, and reporting tools to ensure accurate and timely information sharing
  • Support coalition engagement efforts and represent organizational priorities externally

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Government, Communications, Journalism, or a related field preferred
  • 3–5 years of experience in public policy, advocacy, government affairs, coalition management, legislative affairs, or nonprofit policy work
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience drafting reports, policy updates, and stakeholder communications
  • Experience monitoring legislation, legal developments, and regulatory issues
  • Ability to analyze complex information and communicate findings clearly to diverse audiences
  • Familiarity with legislative and legal tracking systems (such as Quorum and Westlaw)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups and perspectives
  • Commitment to NAF's mission and values, including diversity, equity, inclusion, and antiracism
  • Experience working in nonprofit, advocacy, membership, or mission-driven organizations
  • Familiarity with reproductive health, reproductive rights, health equity, or related policy issues
  • Experience participating in coalitions, task forces, or stakeholder groups
