Key Responsibilities

  • Transfer data from paper formats (forms, invoices, contracts, handwritten notes) to computer files or database systems using keyboards, data recorders, or optical scanners.
  • Enter client‑provided data accurately and efficiently, adhering to predefined formatting standards.
  • Create and maintain complex spreadsheets containing large volumes of figures, ensuring zero‑error calculations and proper formula application.
  • Verify entered data against source documents, performing cross‑checks to catch discrepancies before they propagate.
  • Update existing records in the master database, applying changes promptly while preserving historical integrity.
  • Retrieve specific data sets from the database or electronic files upon request from internal teams or external stakeholders.
  • Perform scheduled backups and participate in data preservation initiatives to safeguard against loss or corruption.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience as a data entry clerk or similar role, with a track record of handling high‑volume data accurately.
  • Fast typing proficiency (minimum 70 WPM) with a strong preference for touch‑typing expertise.
  • Excellent command of word processing and spreadsheet applications, particularly Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and Google Workspace.
  • Working knowledge of office equipment, computer hardware, and peripheral devices such as scanners, printers, and external drives.
