Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Noblis is a company dedicated to supporting the Naval Sea Systems Command and related missions, and they are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to provide support for various ship programs for the US Navy. The role involves designing, evaluating, planning, and testing mechanical equipment and systems, with responsibilities including creating designs, writing calculations, and preparing documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Creating mechanical designs and drawings
  • Writing precise calculations
  • Creating and testing prototypes for functionality
  • Re-engineering products when problems are found and recalculating for the return of products to full functionality
  • Preparing reports and documentation for leadership
  • Perform obsolescence evaluation and assist with finding replacements

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering or Electrical Engineering
  • 3 three (3) years of experience in including mechanical/electrical system design, repair, installation, modification, operation, maintenance and testing
  • US citizen and an active DoD security clearance at SECRET level or the ability to obtain one
  • Experience with equipment design principles
  • Familiarity with 2D/3D engineering design & manufacturing tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor)
  • Experience reviewing models and drawings for manufacturability of parts
  • Experience with documentation development including drawings, technical manuals (operation, assembly, troubleshooting, and repair), bill of materials
  • Familiarity military specifications for technical design
  • Shipboard experience Navy or Maritime is a plus
  • Experience working with detailed specifications under configuration management
  • Experience interfacing directly with US military technical representatives
  • Experience working with equipment suppliers and vendors
  • Shipboard experience as an operator / maintainer is a plus
