[Remote] Cyber Security Consultant

They are seeking a part-time Cyber Security Consultant to assess and improve the security posture of client environments, focusing on Oracle-related systems and integrations. The role involves performing security assessments, recommending remediation strategies, and collaborating with clients on security requirements and solutions.
Responsibilities
- Assess and improve the security posture of client environments, focusing on Oracle-related systems and integrations
- Perform security risk and vulnerability assessments
- Review application and network architectures
- Recommend practical remediation strategies
- Collaborate with client stakeholders to define security requirements
- Develop security controls and best practices
- Support the implementation of security solutions
- Prepare clear documentation, security reports, and recommendations
- Advise clients on regulatory, compliance, and governance considerations relevant to their technology stack
Skills
- Strong foundation in Cybersecurity and Information Security principles, including risk management, governance, and security best practices
- Hands-on experience with Network Security, including secure configurations, firewalls, VPNs, segmentation, and monitoring
- Experience in Application Security, including secure SDLC practices, code review collaboration, and application threat modeling
- Proficiency in conducting Vulnerability Assessments, using relevant tools and frameworks, and translating findings into actionable remediation plans
- Familiarity with securing enterprise platforms such as Oracle or similar ERP and database environments is highly beneficial
- Ability to communicate complex security topics clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, in writing and verbally
- Experience working in a consulting, client-facing, or advisory role, including requirements gathering and stakeholder management
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Self-directed, organized, and comfortable working independently in a remote, part-time environment
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, OSCP, or vendor-specific security certifications) are a plus
