Key Responsibilities
- Partner closely with Specialized Accounting, Functional Accounting, Engineering, Product, Finance, Tax, Legal, and other stakeholders to define and prioritize accounting data requirements.
- Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive accounting data models that support automated journal entry processing, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and efficiency across financial cycles.
- Lead functional improvement initiatives aimed at streamlining revenue processes and shortening the revenue close timeline.
- Validate the data quality of journal entries generated by the Revenue Subledger and create robust data quality checks for high‑impact use cases, including new product rollouts and ad‑hoc analyses.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to continuously enhance the daily Revenue Reconciliation process and oversee reconciliation investigations with the audit team.
- Review new product specifications presented during inbound Revenue Consistency reviews, assess impact on existing accounting requirements, and propose enhancements where needed.
- Drive cross‑team collaboration on journal entry flows for new or existing products to enable automation via the Revenue Subledger.
- Execute month‑end revenue close tasks, including GAAP revenue analysis, cost of revenue investigations, debt claim reconciliations, journal entry reviews, and audit close package preparation.
- Own special projects and ad‑hoc analyses as assigned, delivering actionable insights that influence product strategy and financial planning.
Essential Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in revenue accounting, data analysis, and business intelligence.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, specifically ASC 606 revenue recognition; familiarity with IFRS is a plus.
- Advanced SQL skills with the ability to query and manipulate large, complex data sets efficiently.
- Proficiency in Python (or a comparable programming language) for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
