Position Overview

The Specialty Pharmacy Technician – Data Entry & Transplant Services role is a full‑time, 40‑hour per week position (Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 7:30 pm). You will work exclusively on weekdays—no weekends or holidays—allowing you to maintain a healthy work‑life balance while contributing to a critical segment of our specialty pharmacy network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately enter transplant‑related prescription data into the pharmacy management system, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Identify and flag questionable prescriptions; route them promptly to the supervising pharmacist for review and resolution.
  • Initiate outbound communications (phone calls, faxes, secure emails) with prescribers to clarify prescription details, request substitutions, or discuss formulary changes.
  • Maintain meticulous records of all patient referrals, prescription adjudications, and communication logs to support audit readiness.
  • Collaborate with the call‑center team to provide seamless, high‑quality customer service while managing multiple patient cases simultaneously.
  • Utilize strong computer skills to navigate multiple software platforms, including electronic health records (EHR), pharmacy dispensing systems, and secure messaging tools.
  • Participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives, offering suggestions to streamline data‑entry workflows and reduce turnaround times.
  • Adhere to all safety, privacy, and compliance standards, including HIPAA and state pharmacy board regulations.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a specialty or mail‑order setting.
  • Current Pharmacy Technician certification in the state of Georgia (GA).
  • Demonstrated proficiency with pharmacy software, data entry, and electronic prescription processing.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex medication information clearly to prescribers and patients.
  • High degree of reliability, accuracy, and professionalism in a high‑volume environment.
  • Ability to multitask effectively while maintaining a customer‑focused attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a specialty pharmacy, particularly with transplant medication regimens.
  • Background in a call‑center environment, demonstrating strong telephone etiquette and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Experience with prescription adjudication, including navigating insurance claim issues and communicating case status to prescribers.
  • Familiarity with pharmacy compounding, sterile preparation, or clinical pharmacy services.

Education

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Additional coursework or certifications in pharmacy technology, health informatics, or related fields is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits
