They are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer intern to support mechanical design and development activities for medical devices, including concept generation, modeling, and analysis of components and assemblies.

Responsibilities

  • Support mechanical design and development activities for medical devices, including concept generation, modeling, and analysis of components and assemblies
  • Work with cross-functional teams in R&D
  • Contribute to weekly prototyping
  • Prepare and update CAD models and drawings
  • Assist in design reviews and design-for-manufacturability efforts
  • Support testing, data collection, and documentation to meet regulatory and quality requirements
  • Coordinate with project managers on timelines, milestones, and deliverables
  • Learn and apply best practices in medical device development, collaborating closely with engineering, manufacturing, and regulatory teams

Skills

  • Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering, with understanding of mechanics, materials, and manufacturing processes
  • Proficiency in Machine Design, including design of mechanical components, assemblies, and mechanisms for reliability and safety
  • Hands-on experience or coursework with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for 3D modeling, drafting, and design iteration
  • Exposure to Research and Development (R&D), including prototyping, testing, data analysis, and documentation
  • Basic Project Management skills, such as task planning, time management, and coordination with cross-functional teams
  • Pursuing or holding a bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications, and familiarity with GD&T is a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a lab and manufacturing environment
  • Interest in medical devices or regulated industries; prior internship or project experience in this field is advantageous
