Virtual Middle School Teacher -- Remote | WFH
We are a tuition-free K-10 online public school based in the state of Oklahoma. We are dedicated to empowering students to excel by providing them with personalized learning experiences through innovative technology, allowing them to learn at their own pace and in ways that suit their individual needs. We are currently seeking enthusiastic and dedicated teachers who are passionate about... fostering a supportive and challenging classroom environment that prioritizes both student academic growth and social-emotional development. We utilize a cutting-edge 21st-century curriculum that can be accessed online as well as through traditional methods. Please note that while this position involves online instruction, occasional travel and in-person attendance will be necessary to support state testing and student events.
Responsibilities
Serve as the primary instructor across all core content areas and grade levels. Strive to achieve all goals related to student achievement, culture, and state-specific academic standards. Deliver engaging live lessons via web conference tailored to student needs and grounded in research-based instructional practices. Set up courses within the Learning Management System and provide daily feedback and grading for asynchronous courses. Monitor student progress and maintain regular communication with each student and their families. Collaborate with the Principal to create and deliver progress reports for students. Utilize student data to inform instructional adjustments and differentiate teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, integrating culturally responsive teaching practices. Uphold school-wide culture expectations and norms, both in and out of the classroom. Communicate regularly with families regarding student academic and social-emotional growth. Incorporate 21st-century technology skills into classroom practice. Participate in non-instructional activities such as social events and field trips, both in-person and virtually. Collaborate effectively and respectfully with colleagues.
Qualifications
Current state teaching license in the appropriate content area. Familiarity with State Standards and Common Core Standards. Preferred Minimum Of Two Years' Teaching Experience. Comfortable working in a growth-focused coaching environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Physical ability to stand for up to 90 minutes at a time and supervise students in various settings. Clear federal and state criminal background checks.
