Sit (or stand) at the heart of our rapidly growing $5B+ food business. An essential part of the Starbucks product experience, food completes the occasion for our customers. This role focuses on our bakery products. We have an org chart, but our team strives together as one. Here’s what our team does and where you may play a part: Drive forward our ambitious food programs Food plays a central role in elevating our brand – we are standing up a new program to freshly bake croissants in our stores. We aim to serve the absolute best coffeehouse croissants in our stores. This is a highly complex, highly cross-functional initiative requiring a combination of day-to-day management as well as strategic thinking to see around corners and drive smart decision-making. While our focus is food, bake fresh spans most corners of the enterprise, contributing to a robust toolkit. We are also reimagining our food case – near term and long term – to deliver a stunning visual presentation. Craft our food We love food on the Food team, and we have the privilege of crafting new food experiences for our customers – new platforms, new flavors, new textures. This forms the core of what we do. We partner closely with our product development team to imagine and commercialize new food products that align with our food strategy. We test and learn about innovative food concepts – refining products for customers and de-risking investments for our business. Deeply understand our customers To craft food that our customers are most likely to enjoy, we engage in research that helps us understand how we can best make our customers’ lives better through food. This may include foundational research to understand underserved food occasions that Starbucks can fill, or refining opportunity areas such as all-day eating/snacking Think strategically about our business Crafting the best food for our customers requires combining our understanding of customers with business sense to create the focus necessary to execute well. We define the most promising opportunities to enhance our customers’ lives through food experiences, and thus grow our business. Engage our partners Food experiences don’t come to life without our store partners, and we aim to make our partners evermore proud to serve our food. We partner with our operations team to develop and implement initiatives that educate and excite our store partners about our food. We have fun and eat a lot of food! We’d love to hear from people with: 3-5+ years of work experience with preference for 1-2+ years in category or brand management Project planning, management, execution, and collaboration (2+ years) Developing and delivering presentations to executive level audiences (1+ years) A passion for developing products and building brands rooted in customer empathy Experience developing and executing on product strategies Demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically Ability to leverage data and insights to inform actions that will develop a brand Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing Ability to function effectively with high degrees ambiguity and change Ability to work in a matrix environment and to collaborate cross-functionally and cross-culturally Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines Strong interpersonal skills Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work experience or four years US military experience From free coffee to competitive pay, Starbucks is proud to offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package to our eligible part-time and full-time partners.
