About Us
Hume AI is dedicated to building artificial intelligence that is directly optimized for human well-being. We have just raised a Series B funding round and are launching a new flagship product, an empathic AI assistant that can be built into any application. Where other AI companies see only words, our API can see (and hear) the other half of human communication: subtle tones of voice, word emphasis, facial expression, and more, along with the reactions of listeners. These behaviors reveal our preferenceswhether we find things... interesting or boring; satisfying or frustrating; funny, eloquent, or dubious. About the Role
As a Mobile Application Engineer, you will work closely with our team of research scientists, engineers, and designers to build our consumer mobile applications, making our powerful AI solutions accessible to users with varying degrees of technical sophistication through cutting-edge tools. Responsibilities Lead customer-facing initiatives by contributing new features to our cross platform mobile applications (iOS, Android, macOS, Desktop) while maintaining high standards of excellence. Work autonomously to maintain and identify areas of improvement for existing code and tests. Identify areas for improvement within the existing codebase that reduce code complexity and improve overall performance of mobile applications. Build internal tools to help facilitate prototyping, maintenance, and quality of the codebase. Mentor junior engineers and help provide documentation and resources for onboarding coworkers to new features and components. Collaborate closely with our design, product, backend, and research teams. Requirements 6-10 years of experience in developing mobile applications. Proficiency with a modern mobile development stack (e.g., React Native, Swift, Kotlin, etc.). Expertise in modern mobile best practices, including accessibility, performance optimization, and user experience. Proficiency with tools like debuggers, profilers, and performance monitoring to identify areas of improvement. Proficiency with tools for automated testing and CI/CD (such as XCTest, Espresso, Fastlane, GitHub Actions). Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Experience with iOS development using Swift and Objective-C.
