Job Summary:

Banfield Pet Hospital, one of the leading pet healthcare providers across the US, is currently seeking a dedicated part-time Veterinary Technician with an hourly pay. Job Description:

As a Veterinary Technician, you will be responsible for supporting our veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients. You will be an integral part of the hospital team who supports and assists the veterinarians and veterinary assistants, ensuring the safety of pets, clients, and other associates. Responsibilities:

– Assist the veterinarian during examination of animals, providing restraint as needed.

– Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, serums, and treatments, as prescribed by the veterinarian.

– Perform laboratory tests on blood, urine, and feces, such as urinalyses and blood counts.

– Use medical equipment, such as x-ray machines.

– Advise pet owners on general care, medical conditions, and treatments.

– Clean and maintain kennels, animal holding areas, examination and operating rooms, and animal loading/unloading facilities.

– Assist in the practice of veterinary medicine and surgery by performing duties such as preparing surgical equipment and passing instruments and materials.

Qualifications:

– High School Diploma or equivalent.

– Completion of a veterinary technology program preferred.

– One to two years of related experience in veterinary practice is preferable.

– Certified Veterinary Technician is a plus.

– Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
