Memorial Union Markets (Badger Market, Peet's & Daily Scoop)

Department Overview: The Wisconsin Union, often referred to as "the heart and soul" of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, has enhanced the lives of members and visitors since it was founded in 1907. Since 1928, when the doors to Memorial Union opened, the Wisconsin Union has served as the living room of the UW-Madison campus. The Union connects students, faculty, staff, members and visitors... through shared cultural, social and recreational events and experiences. Anticipated Hours Per Week 8 or more Schedule: • We work around class schedules and exams. We also accommodate extra curricular obligations if possible. • Minimum Hour Expectation- 3 shifts a week. Each shift is about 4 to 6 hours long • MU Markets hours of operation are 7am to 11pm Salary/Wage Range: Hourly $15.00 to $15.00 Number Of Positions 10 Position Summary/Job Duties: • Ring up transactions at the registers and assist customers. • Maintain store’s stock and replace/rotate as needed. • Help maintain health code requirements and policies. • Work with a team to improve unit operations and workflow. • Be knowledgeable in multiple MU Markets units (Peet’s, Badger Market & Daily Scoop). • All of the dining units at Memorial Union (Peet’s, Badger Market, Daily Scoop) are a team, so you may move around depending on the shift • Note: emergency contraception is sold at this location (for more info) Qualifications: • Dedicated and self-starting employee needed. • Flexible outlook to work at 3 separate units in the Union (Peet’s, Badger Market and Daily Scoop). • Must be willing and available to work at least one weekend and one closing shift a week • Food service techniques and knowledge are a plus Student Status To be eligible for the Wisconsin Union positions, you must be currently enrolled in a college, university, or highschool (at least 16). It is not permissible to hire a person as a student hourly employee if they are taking credits merely to be eligible for student hourly employment.
