Customer Service Associate/Cashier

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and friendly Customer Service Associate / Cashier to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, providing exceptional service while handling transactions and ensuring a positive shopping experience. Your ability to manage cash handling, operate the cash register, and assist with stock management will be crucial to our success. Responsibilities • Greet customers warmly and provide assistance throughout their shopping experience. • Operate the cash register efficiently, processing transactions accurately and promptly. • Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions with precision while maintaining a balanced cash drawer. • Assist in stocking shelves and organizing merchandise to ensure a well-presented store environment. • Provide information about products and services to enhance customer satisfaction and drive sales. • Maintain a clean and organized checkout area to promote a welcoming atmosphere. • Address customer inquiries and resolve issues with professionalism and courtesy. • Supervise junior staff members as needed, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures. • Utilize basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing. • Exhibit excellent phone etiquette when answering customer calls or inquiries. Qualifications • Previous experience in customer service or retail is preferred but not required. • Familiarity with cash registers, POS systems, and cash handling procedures is an asset. • Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers. • Basic math skills for transaction accuracy are essential. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective interaction with customers and team members. • A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and customer satisfaction is highly valued.
