Position: All Online LPN to RN Programs LPN to RN Program Information If you are a Licensed Practical Nurse, you are already aware of the work that goes into a career in nursing. You likely also already have the medical and scientific knowledge necessary to tackle the strenuous nursing school curriculum. You have likely already contacted your state licensing board to determine the requirements necessary for landing an RN license. Now you need to check the accreditation of each school you’re seriously considering to ensure your degree will be honored by your hiring institution and the state licensing board. As an LPN, you likely also already know that admittance to nursing programs can be highly competitive. You’ll need at least a high school degree or GED for consideration and your high school GPA may be considered. In order to go from LPN, you have several paths, one of which is to pursue an Associates’ Degree in Nursing (ADN). This allows the student to graduate in two to three years and possibly go straight into the workforce. An ADN is all that is required to take the NCLEX to become an RN. The other path is to pursue a bachelor’s degree in nursing. While this degree path takes longer—four years or more—it is ideal for those planning to advance to administration someday and/or pursue a master’s degree. Having a bachelor’s degree will also help you compete for the best jobs, giving you an edge over the competition. Online LPN to RN Programs There are a large number of RN programs at colleges nationwide. The key is to narrow down your top choices and apply early, listing all your credentials on your application. Slots can be limited, but don’t let desperation to get into an RN program prompt you to make a choice you’ll regret. The below RN programs are only a few of the many online RN programs you can choose from. For distance learning, Indiana State University is a choice that will give you the credence of a state university with the convenience of an online degree program. Even better, ISU was voted Best of the Midwest for seven years running by the Princeton Review. Located in Terre Haute, Indiana, the school has a separate distance learning program with BS degrees in Nursing for RNs, LPNs, and LVNs. Chamberlain College of Nursing’s online LPN to RN programs allow Ohio residents to take classes online or on its Columbus, Ohio campus. If an LPN meets admission requirements, Chamberlain gives credit for up to ten college hours toward a nursing associate’s degree. This will help put you on the path toward getting the RN license you’ve been seeking, once you’ve passed the NCLEX. Western Governors University has a pre-licensure RN certification program that will prepare you for the NCLEX while giving you the clinical experience to help you earn your bachelor’s degree if you choose. Currently seeking students in California, Texas, Florida, and Indiana, this is an online degree program, but you’ll be required to travel to the location to do your clinical. Northern Virginia Community College offers distance learning for its LPN to RN program, with several tracks to help you find the path that meets your career goals. Based in Annandale, Virginia, Northern Virginia Community College has campuses and centers throughout Virginia, in addition to its online and distance learning. With its LPN-RN program, Pratt Community College can put you through its eLearning section. Pratt’s Nursing, Allied Health, and EMS department seek to prepare ADN nurses for the workforce. Achieve Test Prep helps LPNs earn their ADN or BSN degree online in up to 1/2 the time and cost of traditional programs. With No Waiting List to get started, Free Books, and Low-Cost financing options available nationwide except in parts of California, Alabama, and Kansas. The LIVE instructor led test-out program allows one to learn at an accelerated pace and earn college credit-by-examination which then is eligible to be transferred to an ACEN accredited nursing school or 100’s of universities nationwide. Learn More Choosing the right college from all the online LPN to RN programs will likely be the first important step to your new future career. Weigh the choices carefully and choose a college that you’ll be proud to claim as your alma mater. #J-18808-Ljbffr Apply Job!
