About the position The Inside Claims Representative II - Total Loss plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional claims service by fairly and equitably adjusting moderately complex auto total loss claims. This position involves direct communication with repair facilities, customers, and appraisers, utilizing both telephone and written correspondence to ensure a smooth claims process. Responsibilities • Provide exceptional customer service through empathy and understanding of customer needs. , • Interpret policy wordings, determine policy coverage, and ensure appropriate reserving. , • Obtain and evaluate relevant information from appraisers, third party adjusters, contractors, and repair facilities to quantify losses and validate total loss evaluations. , • Negotiate settlement of total loss claims with insureds, claimants, and attorneys to reach fair and equitable settlements. , • Communicate with repair facilities, lien holders, tow facilities, and other vendors to obtain relevant information to settle claims. , • Coordinate services with vendors and service providers, such as rental and salvage. , • Secure documents needed to process titles and salvage of vehicles. , • Manage pending claims and workload timely and proactively to expedite total loss settlements. , • Maintain accurate records based on company standards and policies within the claims system. , • Remain up-to-date with legislative changes and trends in the insurance industry. , • Manage salvage inventory by resolving release issues, setting minimum bids, reviewing bid approval requests, and resolving title problems. Requirements • Minimum 1+ years of insurance claims adjusting experience. , • Effective customer service skills including empathy and concern for customers. , • Strong communication skills, both written and oral. , • Strong investigative and analytical skills. , • Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced, changing environment. , • Detail-oriented with a critical degree of accuracy regarding data entry. , • Strong negotiation skills. , • College/University degree is preferred.
