About the position The Operations and Administration Section Director for the Maritime Division at TxDOT is responsible for overseeing complex operations and business support functions. This role involves strategic planning, financial management, and administrative oversight, ensuring the effective execution of the division's grant programs and operational budgets. The director will lead a team of professionals, coordinate with various divisions, and represent the division in high-level meetings and decision-making processes. Responsibilities • Oversee complex operations and business support functions for the Maritime Division. , • Provide direction and guidance in strategic operations and planning. , • Manage financial aspects of the division's grant programs, including forecasting and budget analysis. , • Develop and administer budgets, including Legislative Appropriation Requests. , • Coordinate with human resources and financial management divisions to resolve issues. , • Supervise a group of professional and technical employees. , • Analyze trends on resource expenditures and economic impacts. , • Direct administrative and business functions including contract administration and purchasing. , • Manage the development and procurement of professional services and contracts. , • Review requests for resource reallocations and recommend actions. Requirements • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline. , • 5 years of experience in grant administration or business activities such as budget allocation and development. , • 3 years of supervisory/managerial experience. , • Extensive knowledge of Maritime Infrastructure Program and Seaport Connectivity Program. , • Expert skill in developing and implementing policies and procedures.
