Night shift transportation dispatcher (Remote +Weekly in Office Meeting)

We are looking for a reliable Dispatcher to act as a communication point for emergency and non-emergency calls. You will receive requests, transmit messages and track vehicles. The ideal candidate must be primarily an excellent communicator and able to remain calm and composed, especially in emergency situations. You must be able to multi-task as well as take the appropriate action with little supervision. The goal is to enable different parties to communicate well by ensuring the accurate and timely transmission of information. Monday to Friday: • 5:00 PM - 10:00 PM (REMORE) • 5:00 AM -8:00 AM (REMORE) Weekends: As needed, primarily for emergencies. Responsibilities • Receive emergency and non-emergency calls and record significant information • Address problems and requests by transmitting information or providing solutions • Prioritize calls according to urgency and importance • Use radio, phone or computer to send crews, vehicles or other field units to appropriate locations • Monitor the route and status of field units to coordinate and prioritize their schedule • Enter data in computer system and maintain logs and records of calls, activities and other information • Able to take the dispatching phone and answer phone calls at any time. Skills • Proficient in English (oral and written) • Proven experience as dispatcher or relevant position • Microsoft expert (2 years experience). • Knowledge of procedures and guideline for emergency situations • Ability to quickly assess traffic patterns, road closures, and delays. • Critical thinking to find the most efficient alternative routs. • Proficiency in GPS navigation systems (Google Maps, Route Optimization Software). • Understanding of traffic flow, peak hours, and road restrictions. • Ability to provide real time instructions and updates • Double checking route efficiency to save time and fuel costs. • Data entry • Meeting deadlines while adapting to last minute changes. • Ability to manage same day add ons by utilizing available capacity from no shows or cancellations. • Outstanding organizational and multitasking abilities • Active listener with excellent communication skills • Sound judgement and critical thinking • High school diploma Job Type: Full-time Pay: $17.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week Schedule: • 8 hour shift • Monday to Friday • Night shift Education: • High school or equivalent (Preferred) Experience: • Dispatching: 1 year (Required) • Microsoft Excel: 2 years (Required) Work Location: Hybrid remote in Sun City, AZ 85373 Apply Job!
