- Job Title: GIS Software Test Analyst
- Location: Must be local to Austin, TX
- Shifts: M-F 8am-5pm CST

- Pay: $24.00/hr
Job Description: The Software Test Analyst will be part of an existing team. they will play a key role in helping the internal GIS Maps Evaluation Team to assess the quality of the map's consumer experience. This hire will be responsible for owning one or more functions of data and service test triage. This role demands a keen eye for detail, and the ideal candidate will demonstrate a willingness to help uncover the root cause of any observed anomaly. The Analyst will periodically compile progress reports based on a few pre-determined key performance indicators (KPIs), and share those findings with the wider organization through the team supervisor. Candidate requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in any equivalent field
- 2-5 years experience in data QA and/or GIS analysis
- Highly organized and analytical
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Prior work in the Apple ecosystem (MacBook, iPhone, iPad)
Preferred skills and attributes:
- Experience working in a fast-paced technology environment
- Experience running processes via the command line or Linux bash shell
- A foundational understanding of statistics A high level of Geographic Literacy
- Ability to pinpoint flaws/weaknesses and improvement/strengths in an abstract test plan
- A detail-oriented mindset and the ability to crack a problem with deep research
- Ability to achieve performance standards while meeting tight deadlines
Requirements:
- Experience in production and database management environment
- data analytics tools: Excel, R, SQL, and others
- previous research or data tracking experience
- Experience working on Mac a plus, however, not required
- willingness to learn internal GIS tools and increase Geographic literacy
