Junior Backend Software Engineer

Kayhan is building cloud-first solutions that provide mission-critical spaceflight safety services to satellite operators. Kayhan is seeking a Junior Backend Software Engineer to collaboratively develop the next generation of space traffic coordination systems. Role Responsibilities • Assist in developing world-class SaaS services bringing space traffic coordination and spaceflight safety services to market • Collaborate with senior engineers and domain experts to design and implement algorithms • Participate in the software design lifecycle, contributing to proof of concept product development • Support the innovation and iteration process by incorporating feedback • Learn and apply API-first approaches to building software applications • Engage in a culture of continuous learning and professional development • Contribute to a positive engineering culture by participating in team activities and discussions About You You have a strong foundation in computer science principles and are excited to apply your knowledge to real-world problems. You are a quick learner who is open to feedback and eager to develop your skills. You are a team player who enjoys collaborating with others and contributing to a positive team environment. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field • Familiarity with Agile Software Development & Kanban methodologies • Basic knowledge of cloud computing, preferably AWS (internships or academic projects acceptable) • Proficiency in Python and exposure to at least one system-level programming language (C, C++, Rust) • Understanding of software containerization and orchestration (Docker and Kubernetes preferred) • Basic knowledge of software test methodologies • Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases • Comfortable working in a Linux environment Job Location • Denver, CO Compensation • Total compensation for this role is base salary + company equity • Colorado base salary range: $80-130k Kayhan Space Benefits and Perks • Competitive salary • Company Equity • Great health insurance (medical, dental, vision) • 401k • Lunch catered weekly for the Colorado office • Opportunity to have an impact on a global scale for space sustainability Kayhan Space is an equal-opportunity employer.
