Remote Part-Time Medical Biller

The Spine Institute is seeking a Remote, Part-Time Medical Biller to join our healthcare team! The Medical Biller will be responsible for billing patients and insurance companies accurately and efficiently, while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. This is a remote, part-time job with flexible hours, but in-office training will be required upon hire. This position is ideal for someone looking to gain experience in medical billing or enhance their existing skills in a supportive environment. Responsibilities:

• Review patient records to ensure accuracy and completeness of billing information.
• Prepare and submit accurate claims to insurance companies and follow up on any outstanding claims.
• Process patient payments and send out invoices for any unpaid balances.
• Verify patient insurance coverage.
• Communicate effectively with patients and insurance representatives regarding billing inquiries and discrepancies.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
• Assist in resolving billing discrepancies by researching and providing necessary documentation.
• Perform other administrative tasks as required to support the billing department.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in medical billing is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of / experience in specialty (spine) billing is preferred but not required.
• Previous experience in medical billing or a related field is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and billing procedures.
• Familiarity with Advanced MD is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
