About the position The Business Intelligence Engineer III role at Chewy involves designing, developing, implementing, testing, documenting, and operating large-scale data models and BI solutions for analytics and deep learning. Responsibilities
- Implement data ingestion routines both real-time and batch using best practices in data modeling, ETL/ELT processes.

- Provide online reporting and analysis using business intelligence tools and a logical abstraction layer against large, multi-dimensional datasets and multiple sources.

- Gather business and functional requirements and translate these requirements into robust, scalable, operable solutions that work well within the overall data architecture.

- Produce comprehensive, usable data set documentation, metadata, BI reports, dashboards, and insights.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.

- 5 years of experience in relevant fields, including 2 years in SQL and data modeling.
,
- Experience building automated data warehousing environments for production reports or tables.
,
- Experience with Redshift, Snowflake DWH's, and S3 or similar data lakes.
,
- Proficiency in data visualization tools like Tableau, Looker, Quicksight or similar.
,
- Experience building self-serve BI solutions, canned reports, and enterprise-level BI solutions.
,
- Data modeling experience in large data warehousing and data lake environments.
,
- Proficiency in Python/R or similar coding languages.
,
- Ability to draw insights from data and communicate them clearly to partners and senior management.

- Understanding of data management fundamentals and data storage principles.

- Experience with BI tools for ETL, including Airflow.
