Job description: Capital Program ManagerThe City of Johns Creek seeks a highly skilled Capital Program Manager to lead and deliver our comprehensive transportation program, including projects funded by the Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (TSPLOST). This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic professional to oversee transportation projects from inception to completion, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with state and federal regulations.Key Responsibilities:
- Develop project concepts and designs for transportation improvements addressing traffic flow, safety, drainage, and environmental impact.
- Review and manage transportation project plans, including conducting field investigations and site visits.
- Apply GDOT, MUTCD, and municipal design standards during project development and review.
- Oversee the procurement process for transportation projects and manage consultants during design phases.
- Lead staff with mentorship and guidance to ensure team productivity and growth.
- Ensure compliance with GDOT plan development process (PDP), Local Administered Project (LAP) requirements, and other federal/state regulations.
- Monitor project budgets and timelines to ensure on-time, cost-effective delivery.
- Assist with right-of-way acquisition and utility coordination for capital projects.
- Prepare reports, present project updates to City leadership, and respond to public inquiries regarding projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Eight (8) years of experience in civil/transportation engineering.
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible management experience.
- Valid Georgia driver's license.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License.
- GDOT LAP Certification.
- Experience in project management and finance management.
- Proficiency in transportation design/project management software.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills for engaging with diverse stakeholders.
- Expertise in transportation project design and construction, including GDOT processes.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with construction materials and public works operations.
- Ability to interpret design drawings, contracts, and specifications.
- Proven leadership in supervising staff and coordinating with external agencies.
- Travel between city facilities and external agencies as needed.
