- Accurately transcribe complex audio recordings, maintaining verbatim fidelity, including slang, non-verbal cues, and inaudible indicators.
- Handle transcription of highly sensitive and confidential materials, ensuring legal admissibility.
- Transcribe in English and/or target foreign languages, maintaining consistent formatting and speaker labeling protocols.
- Interpret and flag coded language, criminal jargon, or cultural idioms as needed for investigative analysis.
- Collaborate with law enforcement officials, case analysts, and linguists to verify accuracy and context.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to secure file transfer and data handling procedures.
- Demonstrated high-speed typing with a minimum of 70 WPM and exceptional accuracy.
- At least two (2) years of experience in legal, law enforcement, or investigative transcription.
- Familiarity with criminal slang, regional dialects, and coded terminology used in illicit networks.
- Strong listening and analytical comprehension skills; ability to transcribe poor-quality or multi-speaker audio.
- Experience working with transcription software tools (e.g., Express Scribe, ForTheRecord, Adobe Audition).
- Ability to follow detailed formatting and time-stamping requirements specific to legal and law enforcement documentation.
- English transcription proficiency is required.
- Bilingual candidates with transcription capability in any of the following are highly desired:
- Spanish
- Arabic
- Mandarin
- Russian
- Farsi
- Haitian Creole
- Vietnamese
- French
- Pashto
- Other mission-critical languages
- Prior experience working with the DEA, FBI, DHS, or local law enforcement.
- Familiarity with Title III wiretap operations, SCIF protocols, or chain-of-custody documentation.
- Ability to pass government language proficiency tests and security clearance screenings.
- Employment is contingent upon contract award and favorable background investigation.
- Must be willing to work on-site in secure locations or remotely under strict data protection protocols.
- Availability for shift work, weekends, or high-volume turnaround projects is expected.
