Job description: Quintech Electronics & Communications, Inc. is seeking an IT Intern whose primary duties will include documenting installation and configuration processes for a standardized baseline Linux Mint OS deployment. This includes integration with Quintech security tools including but not limited to Sophos endpoint, Sophos Client Authentication, and DUO Multi-factor authentication (MFA).
Seeking LOCAL candidates only!Additional Duties include assisting our IT Team with:
- Deploy wireless adapters to desktop PCs as part of Quintech’s cybersecurity initiative of making LAN access and web access mutually exclusive.
- Responsible for providing end user support and solutions for all business information and related systems for all departments of the corporation. Responsible for providing hardware and software support for all business information and related systems.
- Complete IT request work orders in an efficient, professional manner each day. Prioritize with focus on security, continuity of service and documentation.
- Set up and install PC’s, software, phones, backup systems, printers, routers, hubs, switches, and misc. devices.
- Maintain standards for configurations of systems. Recommend changes in configuration of standard operating systems, software systems and hardware systems.
- Perform routine maintenance on systems to avoid system outages and failures.
- Troubleshoot user systems, network connections, software/hardware, internet, remote access, and phones as necessary. Diligently track problems until they are solved and resolved.
- Repair and upgrade user systems as necessary.
- Gather and analyze information regarding operating problems, issues, and trends.
- Ensure software and hardware is up to date; installing updates/patches as required and/or directed by department standards and policies.
- Provide technical support and solution options to users utilizing technology to improve workflow and business processes.
- Provide end user training for software and hardware with a focus on using systems and components effectively and safely, as needed.
- Communicate matters of relevance to the IT Technician II and IT Manager regarding applicable systems, status of projects, future IT needs and requirements for end users.
- Work with other departments on special projects as requested and required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned and adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Must be a US Citizen
- Prior computer networking, personal computer hardware and troubleshooting experience or education required.
- Must be currently undergoing or recently completed college education courses/degree in IT or related field.
- Must be able to work independently and as a team.
