  • Design Phase Cost Management: Lead the development and maintenance of the Basis of Design (BoD) cost models, ensuring alignment with program requirements and design intent.
  • Programmatic Change Analysis: Evaluate and quantify cost impacts resulting from programmatic changes during the design and construction phases, collaborating closely with Pre-Construction and Construction teams to integrate changes effectively.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with Design, Procurement, Construction, and Finance teams to ensure cost considerations are integrated throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Cost Reporting: Prepare and present detailed cost reports, forecasts, and variance analyses to senior leadership, facilitating informed decision-making.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for cost optimization and process enhancements, contributing to the development of best practices and standards within the cost engineering function.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction cost control, with specific knowledge of electrical, mechanical, or architectural cost elements.
  • At least 2 years of experience in data center or other mission-critical construction environments (Semiconductors, Oil & Gas).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Proficiency in cost estimating software such as Procore, RSMeans Data Online, ConWize, STACK, and ProEst.
  • Experience reviewing and justifying budgets, with a strong understanding of cost estimation strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex cost information effectively to both construction and non-construction professionals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Experience working with remote teams and managing multiple stakeholders across various disciplines.

The base pay for this position ranges from $128,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
