The Air & Space Defense Systems (ASDS) Strategic Business Unit (SBU) has an exciting and challenging opportunity for an Associate Director, Contracts within the Strike Initiatives area, as Tactical Strike portfolio lead comprised of StormBreaker and Miniature Air Launched Decoy (MALD) programs, in addition to multiple new capture areas. This role demands a multi-faceted, strategic Contracts Leader to deal with complex and creative solutions to support US Airforce/Navy, prime, commercial and foreign customers across a broad technology portfolio with sustainment, development, low rate, and high production contracts. The Candidate selected for this role will manage a highly effective team of managers and individual contributors.
The successful candidate's attributes should include but are not limited to: direct supervisory responsibilities, strong experience with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and applicable supplements, including Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) risk assessment and negotiations, strong business acumen, excellent communication skills, subject matter expertise in general contracting, and be able to provide contractual and business guidance to the Tactical Strike's cross-functional leadership team.
What You Will Do
- Effectively communicate with internal and external customers to establish and maintain mutually beneficial relationships and influence business decisions
- Investigate and resolve complex contractual matters by applying astute critical thinking, gathering detailed information, seeking innovative contracting techniques, and proactively collaborating with relevant stakeholders
- Provide individual-level, team-level, and strategic-level advice and guidance on numerous contractual rights/obligations, regulations, and policy/procedure to mitigate risks and unauthorized changes
- Develop pre-negotiation objectives and implement negotiation strategy reviews as part of the proposal development process.
- Provide support of, and, in some cases, lead complex negotiations across all stages of the Government acquisition lifecycle (development, production, sustainment, etc.)
- Have the ability to represent Raytheon independently on significant transactions while maintaining trusting relationships with complex customers
- Quarterly domestic travel is anticipated
- Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience
- Experience with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and applicable supplements, including Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS)
- Experience in the development of proposals and negotiations
- Demonstrated ability to shape results in support of objectives, including ability to communicate and influence executive leadership
- Excellent communication skills and proven ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with complex customers
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment and develop effective relationships based on respect and trust
- Excellent time management and organizational skills are essential
