Whether that experience is online or in-person, streaming video, theatrical, games, merchandise, events and more, it’s powered by the anime content we all love.Join our team, and help us shape the future of anime!About The RoleWe are seeking a Media Operations Technician (contract) to manage video assets, transcoding, quality control, and ensure compliance with all copyright laws and licensing agreements. Reporting to our Director of Global Content Operations, you will also handle technical troubleshooting, organize materials, and conduct quality control checks for both internal and external content distribution.
- You will stage assets in on-premises storage, Aspera on Cloud, and GCP archive, followed by asset ingest in the order management system
- You will perform media preparation and transcoding of assets, which includes the removal of bars and tones, commercial breaks, production slates, and more
- You will evaluate audio and video assets and complete necessary production tasks
- You will download and organize materials received from licensors
- You will review content and mark timecode points for skip credits feature
- You will conduct quality control checks of content intended for internal site and external partners' use
- 4+ years experience in video, encompassing knowledge of related concepts such as timecode, frame rate, AV codecs, editing, timed text formats, and understanding of multiple video file formats and compression techniques.
- You have knowledge of industry-standard video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or Avid Media Composer.
- You are proficient in asset management, storage, and systems, including familiarity with cloud-based storage solutions and file transfer protocols (e.g., AWS S3, GCP, FTP, or Aspera).
- You have experience with media asset management (MAM) systems and digital archiving practices.
- You have an awareness of copyright laws and licensing agreements related to digital content distribution.
- You can troubleshoot technical issues related to video encoding, transcoding, and playback.
- You have familiarity with content protection measures.
- You communicate effectively (written, verbal, listening), and demonstrating the ability to describe issues by email
