Job Overview

As a Community Moderator at Genies, you will play a crucial role in fostering and maintaining an engaging, respectful, and safe online environment for our users. You will be the face of Genies in our community channels, interacting directly with our users, managing online discussions, and ensuring community guidelines are followed. You will work closely with the Community Manager and the User Engagement team to implement strategies that drive user satisfaction and community growth.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and Manage Community Channels: Actively monitor Genies' social media platforms, forums, and other community spaces to ensure conversations remain positive and adhere to community guidelines.
  • Engage with Users: Respond to user inquiries, feedback, and concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring a high level of user satisfaction and engagement.
  • Implement Moderation Policies: Enforce Genies' community guidelines by moderating posts, comments, and user interactions, taking appropriate action against any violations.
  • Support Events and Campaigns: Collaborate with the Community Manager to support virtual events, community activities, and engagement campaigns that encourage user participation and growth.
  • Collect Feedback: Gather feedback from users and report insights to the Community Manager to improve user experience and community strategies.
  • Promote a Positive Environment: Actively encourage a supportive and inclusive atmosphere within the Genies community, promoting respectful interactions among users.
  • Assist in Crisis Management: Help manage and de-escalate conflicts or issues within the community, ensuring a safe and friendly space for all users.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a community moderator or in a similar role, preferably in a tech or gaming industry.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to remain professional and calm in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, online forums, and community management tools.
  • Passion for digital avatars, gaming, and virtual communities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a remote team and adapt to changing situations quickly.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach to monitoring and engaging with the community.
  • Familiarity with moderation tools and the ability to enforce community guidelines fairly and consistently.
