[FULL TIME Remote] FedEx Freight Unloader

Job Summary of FedEx Freight Unloader: At FedEx, the position of a FedEx Freight Unloader entails overseeing and processing cargo within the facility. It demands the handling of shipments, ensuring that freight is handled efficiently, accurately sorted, and loaded and unloaded with attention to detail. Your work as a FedEx Freight Unloader will help maintain the seamless flow of goods and contribute to the success of logistics operations. Responsibilities of FedEx Freight Unloader: • Verify documentation matches freight description (e.g. type, weight, hazardous materials), using current electronic or manual system. • Secure freight inside trailers using appropriate tools and supplies (e.g. pallets, straps, rope). • Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary. • Verify and complete required documentation and reports. • Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed. • Perform hostling duties if required. • Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures. • Perform other duties as required. • Perform freight handling using appropriate motorized and manual equipment, including but not limited to: forklift, pallet jack and hand truck. Qualification of FedEx Freight Unloader: • We are searching for people with a high school diploma or a comparable credential. • Age restriction applies and only those above 18 years are allowed. • Prior history in warehousing, freight handling, or fork lift operations would be advantageous to prospective candidates. • The role of hostler/yard mule attendant would benefit from experience, if available. • Being able to carry out basic arithmetic operations and count, with or without the help of a calculator. • Communication abilities are required in almost all industries and occupations, from education to business. • Proficient in transporting and lifting manual loads of different heaviness periodically throughout the week, as well as handling dock plates weighing approximately 100 pounds and unlocking trailer doors demanding approximately 75 pounds of lift force, sometimes several times a day or more. • During the shift, it is necessary to have the ability to flex, turn, bow, and move items by exerting force to push and pull. • Demonstrating competency in operating independently and/or in a teamwork approach. • A background in dock or warehouse operations would be beneficial. Working Condition of FedEx Freight Unloader: • The dock environment presents workers with unpredictable weather patterns, presence of hazardous exhaust gases, dust, fumes, and excessive noise, leading to discomfort. • Operational needs might lead to alterations in the working hours. • Continual correspondence with representatives from the service center; fast-paced, deadline-constrained.
