Lebanon High School Closing Date: Open Until Filled The Mt. Lebanon School District is seeking a Long-Term Substitute Science Teacher at Mt. Lebanon High School. This assignment will teach Physics and Environmental Geoscience. This is a full-time, on-site, temporary vacancy, of about 4 to 6 weeks. Anticipated dates 11/10/23-12/08/23 (4 weeks) or 12/22/23 (6 weeks). Please see attached job description for a comprehensive list of qualifications, duties and responsibilities. Due to the anticipated length of the assignment, this position will be paid at the per diem substitute rate of $125 per day and will not be eligible for paid time off or district subsidized health benefits. In the event that the placement is extended to 25 days or more, then the daily rate will transition to the degree level daily rate for step 1 of the teachers salary schedule retroactive to the first day, with rates starting at $269.23 per day depending upon credential. In order to be eligible to apply, the candidate must hold an active Instructional Certificate from the Pennsylvania Department of Education inclusive of the subjects to be taught and of grades 9-12, or equivalent authorization in the form of a college/university placeholder letter stating completion of a PDE approved science teacher preparation program and evidence of passing scores on certification examinations, while certification is pending through PDE.
