Overview of the Position This position's primary responsibility will be to implement procedures and systems to prevent merchandise loss. Conduct audits and investigations of employee activity. May assist in developing policies, procedures, and systems for safeguarding assets... Essential Job Duties • Implement or monitor processes to reduce property or financial losses • Investigate known or suspected internal theft, external theft, or vendor fraud • Collaborate with law enforcement agencies to report or investigate crimes • Conduct store audits to identify problem areas or procedural deficiencies • Identify and report merchandise or stock shortages • Inspect buildings, equipment, or access points to determine security risks • Maintain documentation or reports on security-related incidents or investigations • Monitor compliance with standard operating procedures for loss prevention, physical security, or risk management • Prepare written reports on investigations • Recommend new or improved processes or equipment to reduce risk exposure • Verify proper functioning of physical security systems, such as closed-circuit televisions, alarms, sensor tag systems, or locks • Conduct employee background investigations and review reports with operational or human resources managers • Coordinate with risk management, human resources, or other departments to assist in company programs, investigations, or training • Recommend methods to reduce potential financial fraud losses • Investigate known or suspected internal theft, external theft, or vendor fraud • Implement or monitor processes to reduce property or financial losses. • Identify and report merchandise or stock shortages • Maintain documentation or reports on security-related incidents or investigations • Demonstrate regular attendance and timeliness • Skills/Abilities: • Desire to strive to continuously build knowledge and skills • Capacity to write clearly and informatively • Ability to edit work for spelling and grammar • Competency to read and interpret written information • Capable of balancing team and individual responsibilities • Capacity to complete tasks correctly and on time • Ability to analyze data • Capable of handling multiple tasks, prioritizing them and carrying them out independently with exceptional organizational and administrative skills • Willing to adapt quickly to change • Desire to improve current processes and seek efficiencies • Ability to work under tight reporting deadlines • Understanding of the need to maintain a high degree of confidentiality • Flexibility to work overtime Education and Experience • High School diploma or equivalent • 1+ years of work experience in a related field • Must have advanced Microsoft Excel skills Physical Demands • This job is primarily sedentary work.
