Job Description

Summary: The Manager of Program Planning will manage planning operations for a large business area, and a team of planners that support the portfolio. The manager is responsible for the adherence of Draper and governmental policies and best practices in the area of scheduling/EV. Job Description: Duties/Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Planning professionals supporting one of Draper’s largest business areas
  • Support development and maintenance of program Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) in MS Project, based on requirements and scope provided by the customer
  • Detail plan and maintain the IMS throughout the program’s lifecycle that incorporates contractual and programmatic changes into the IMS in order to maintain realistic, current contract schedule baselines
  • Ensure the IMS is compliant with government customer requirements throughout all program phases
  • Ensure the IMS is resource-loaded for applicable scope with target budgets and demonstrates thorough cost and schedule integration
  • Lead and conduct detailed performance capture and analysis of the IMS and supporting documents to ensure quality, completeness and compliance.
  • Support EAC and LRE processes as they relate to the Program IMS
  • Lead the development and maintenance of the Program Master Phasing Schedule using Milestones Professional Software.
  • Partner with the Program Office to ensure integration of program plans and schedules across company functional groups including finance, engineering, procurement, operations, manufacturing, and quality.
  • Identification and implementation of project management processes, tools, program planning, and control practices for new pursuits and existing programs.

Skills/Abilities

  • Proficient using software designed for creating and maintaining industry related schedules. (MS Project, Primavera, Open Plan, or similar scheduling software)
  • Proficient with developing Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) and/or evaluating critical path and/or workflow.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) or similar business process
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiar with Agile planning and execution
  • Experience leading planning effort on a program with external EV reporting and DFARS EV clause invoked.
  • Experience with integration of subcontractors and operations into program plans, schedules and financial tracking.
  • Proficiency with PMX tool suite or similar program management systems

Education

  • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field of study and or an Advance degree in a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in Program Management and/or Program Planning & Scheduling with a Bachelor's Degree, or a minimum of 5 years’ experience with Master's Degree.
